We were profoundly saddened by the news of his untimely departure at the age of 57. President Tizzano was not only a respected leader for Italian rowing but also a revered figure in the international rowing family. His legacy as an Olympic champion was a source of inspiration, and his dedication to the sport in his administrative role was evident and commendable.

Dear friends,
I received the news of the death of Mr. Davide Tizziano with deep sorrow.
He went from being a top rower, a two-time Olympic champion to the president of the Italian Rowing Federation. His life’s strokes were strong, decisive and victorious. Only this time he crossed the finish line too early.
He was a sincere friend of the Croatian Rowing Federation, a valuable collaborator and colleague. We will miss him. Please accept our sincere condolences.
