World Master Regatta Lake Velence di Budapest

ROMA, 16 luglio 2019 – Al termine del Campionato Italiano Master, svoltosi a Ravenna nello scorso week end, pubblichiamo la newsletter di World Rowing nella quale si evidenzia che mancano meno di due mesi alla World Masters Rowing Regatta che quest’anno si svolgerà a Budapest (Ungheria) sulle acque del Lago Velence. Tra le info contenute nella newsletter si ricorda che il termine di iscrizione è fissato per 31 luglio ed è fissata in 30 euro a posto barca. Per maggiori info consultare il sito Regatta Central.

Dear rowing friends,

It is less than two months away until we are all going to meet and have a great time together at this year’s World Masters Rowing Regatta at Lake Velence. We would like to provide some useful and important information for you.

Registration, entry caps and scratches

The entry deadline is approaching. You can register until the 31st of July for 30 euros per seat at the Regatta Central website.

We encourage you to make your entries as soon as possible,as there are entry caps in place. For more information please see Entry Caps on our website.

We are glad to announce that the number of entries made was higher than ever during the Early Bird period ending 31st of May. 2601 entries were sent from 472 different clubs. Thank you for being so enthusiastic!

Since this is the first year that entry caps are in effect, the Masters Commission has been monitoring entries carefully to try to minimize the possibility that anyone will be precluded from racing, subject to the reality that there are a maximum number of races that can be safely conducted each day. If the maximum cap is reached when you try to enter, please register on the waiting list. The Masters Commission has reserved a minimum of 5 races each day that will be released to events that have reached their limit. In addition, the moment entries close on July 31st, we will see if there are any other events that did not use the full number of heat allotted to them, and we will reallocate any extra races to events o the same day that have reached their cap. We will endeavor to inform all crews on a waiting list whether they have been accepted by August 2.

In case you wish to withdraw and scratch from the race, please note our refund policy:

Entries scratched on or before the Standard Deadline (July 31st) are eligible for full refunds.
Entries scratched after the Standard Deadline are not eligible for a refund.
Refunds will not be given for events cancelled due to weather.

Crew Changes

Crew changes can be done not later than 60 minutes before your event first heat at the Regatta Central website.

Boat Rental

We have the pleasure to announce that Filippi is the official boat rental company at WRMR 2019.

Boat hire is done through Regatta Central together with your registration for participation.

Please note that the boat hire reservation period closes on 4th of August and for the mixed races on 13th September.

On racing days you may rent boats for the time period of your race. You may get your boat no earlier than 45 minutes before your heat and return it no later than 10 minutes after your race. Boats come with oars.

You may also hire boats for training on Monday, the 9th of September and Tuesday 10th of September. However, on the first race day, Wednesday, the 11th of September boat hire is not available for training purposes in the morning training session.

Boat hire reservations for Mens & Womens events cancelled before the deadline of 04 August 2019 are eligible for a full refund. Boat hire reservations for Mens & Womens events canceled after the deadline of 04 August 2019 are NOT eligible for a refund.
Boat hire reservations for Mixed events cancelled before the deadline of 04 August 2019 are eligible for a full refund. Boat hire reservations for Mixed events cancelled after the deadline of 04 August 2019 are NOT eligible for a refund.

Refunds will not be given for events cancelled due to weather.

Trailer registration

The parking area surrounding Lake Velence is limited, and therefore we kindly ask all participants to preregister their trailers and number of boats. This is done in Regatta Central at the same time you register to the regatta. Registered trailers will be assigned the best parking spots. Non-registered trailers maycause unforeseen queues and delays both you and the other rowers.

Trains and shuttle buses

Lake Velence is easily accessible from Budapest and Lake Balaton. Trains going to Velence leave from Déli railway station (M2 Metro) and K_bánya-Kispest Railway station. All trains will stop at Kelenföldi railway station, which is easily reached by Metro (M4).

There will be minimum 2-3 trains going from Budapest to Velence every hour.

The Organising Committee provides a 50% discount on your train ticket. When purchasing the ticket at one of the railway stations in Budapest you should buy a single ticket only. You will be able to validate it for the return trip in the Accreditation and Information Centre at the venue at no additional fee. Notice: The discount only applies ticket purchased at one of the railway stations. It does not apply to ticket purchased online.

The Velence Organising Committee will operate a shuttle bus service from the airport to Budapest and Lake Velence. There will also be shuttle service around Lake Velence, stopping at: Agárd train station, Gárdony train station, Velence train station and Velence Regatta course. Please buy your tickets for the shuttle bus from and to the train stations in advance at the Regatta Central website.
